Terms of Service
Last updated: August 14, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using BillSquire ("the Service"), operated by Otion LLC ("we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
BillSquire is a web-based application that helps users analyze medical bills for potential errors and overcharges, compare charges against public fair-pricing data, and generate appeal letter drafts. The Service operates using client-side artificial intelligence that processes data in the user's browser.
3. Not Legal or Medical Advice
This is critical โ please read carefully.
BillSquire is a tool for informational purposes only. It is not:
- A law firm or legal service
- A medical provider or medical advisory service
- An insurance company or insurance advisory service
- A substitute for professional legal, medical, or financial advice
The analysis provided by BillSquire, including billing code identification, fair-price comparisons, and appeal letter drafts, is generated by artificial intelligence and may contain errors. If your situation is complex, involves significant financial amounts, or involves a dispute, consult a qualified healthcare attorney or patient advocate.
4. Accuracy and Limitations
- AI-generated analysis may contain errors, omissions, or misinterpretations
- Fair-price comparisons are based on public Medicare/CMS pricing data, which may not reflect exact negotiated rates
- OCR may produce errors when processing photos of paper bills
- The Service may not identify all errors and may occasionally flag charges that are correct
- Appeal letters are drafts and should be reviewed by you before sending
You are solely responsible for verifying the accuracy of any analysis before taking action based on it.
5. Zero-Knowledge Architecture and Data Responsibility
BillSquire uses zero-knowledge encryption. This means:
- Your medical bills are encrypted in your browser before they are transmitted to our servers
- We store encrypted data but do not have access to the encryption key
- We cannot decrypt, read, or recover your medical bill data
- You are solely responsible for maintaining your passphrase and recovery key
- If you lose both your passphrase and your recovery key, your encrypted data is permanently unrecoverable
We are not responsible for data loss resulting from lost passphrases or recovery keys. This is an inherent feature of zero-knowledge encryption โ it protects your privacy but places responsibility for key management on you.
6. User Responsibilities
You agree to:
- Provide accurate information when creating your account
- Maintain the security of your passphrase and recovery key
- Use the Service only for analyzing your own medical bills or bills you are authorized to access
- Not use the Service for any illegal purpose
- Not attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or circumvent the Service's encryption or security measures
- Verify the accuracy of any analysis before taking action based on it
7. Intellectual Property
BillSquire, including its software, design, prompts, and content, is the property of Otion LLC. The fair-pricing data used by the Service is sourced from public CMS/Medicare databases and is not owned by BillSquire.
8. Pricing and Payment

- One-time tier: $19 for a single bill analysis with appeal letter

We are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to: incorrect analysis, failure to identify billing errors, losses related to insurance disputes, or data loss due to lost encryption keys. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the 30 days preceding the claim.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Otion LLC, its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or your violation of these Terms.
